Despite trailing 2–1 at half-time, the Eaglets returned to the field with renewed determination and secured victory in the second half against a resilient Bandex side. This result marks their third straight win in preparatory matches. On Wednesday, they overwhelmed Explora FC 4–0, while another friendly against GASA of Ilorin ended in a 1–0 win.

Editorial

We are encouraged by the Eaglets’ tenacious spirit in overturning a first-half deficit against Bandex Football Academy. Their ability to adapt tactically and lift their performance in the second half speaks volumes about their character and readiness for competitive challenges.

We believe these successive warm-up victories play a vital role in instilling confidence and cohesion within the squad. It is one thing to secure wins; it is another to do so by navigating adversity and overcoming deficit. That resilience is what often defines successful teams in major tournaments.

We trust that Coach Manu Garba is making the most of these encounters to refine tactical discipline, field synergy, and mental toughness. Each friendly offers a proving ground for emerging talents in high-pressure scenarios, mirroring the intensity they will face in the WAFU B games.

We anticipate that this momentum and sharpened resolve will serve the Golden Eaglets well as they head into the regional tournament. They have demonstrated an ability to respond when under pressure an invaluable trait. That belief in their collective capability should fuel them through to September.

Their revival from adversity underlines our conviction in the team’s growing maturity and cohesion.
